Hatfield Peverel Village Appraisal

“The Hatfield Peverel Village Appraisal Working Group is finding out what you want for the village.

The ‘questionnaire ‘ has now been delivered to you with the Peverel Review, please fill it in and return it.

Your views on the village and its development are important to every one.

The village will then be in a stronger position to represent our views to those in authority who determine the services provided for us and possibly we can get changes for the better.

As we need to reach every one in the village, we do need volunteers to help with

  1. The distribution and collection (We would like to thank the people who deliver the Review for also delivering the questionnaire. A team of collectors have been found for this great task and we thank them for this offer at  this time).

  2. The analysis of the replies

  3. The results will have to be presented in a professional manner including page layout and artwork.

Can you help with any of these?

If so either let us know your details through  this website or contact Ian Goldsmith.”

Hatfield Peverel and Nounsley's Village Appraisal

Our village appraisal process is now fully underway!

Following the Public meetings in November 2002 and on 21st June 2003, a group of villagers and Parish Councillors have been working very hard towards designing our survey questionaire.  In  fact judging by the enthusiasm and effort so far, we are confident that by the time this article is published (for all to read in the next edition of Hatfield Peverel Review) most of this work will have been done and a draft questionaire will be nearing completion.

Our groups' discussions have been guided principally by the clear areas of concern that villagers expressed at the first meeting in November.  We aim to achieve a survey that will be relevant to all residents over as many of the important issues as possible; such as housing, traffic, the environment etc.  A separate part of the questionaire will be specifically designed for the under 18 years age groups.

With as large a number of residents completing this survey as possible, the answers and results can be analysed and structured to produce a 'Village Plan'.  This will reflect our community's needs for the next five years or more.  Both the Parish Council and Braintree District Council will then be able to focus their efforts as well as existing and future funding on the particular needs of Hatfield Peverel and Nounsley with much greater authority.

The distribution and collecting of the questionaire is undoubtedly the part of this appraisal process that requires the most manpower and this section of the procedure is going  to be organised nearer the Hatfield Peverel Review publication date.  So to all those people who volunteered for this, back in November - many thanks, you will be contacted.  All contributions of help will be gratefully received.

Just to remind everyone, the questionaire is being designed to be completely anonymous.

In order to add some extra incentive for everyone to return their completed questions we plan to hold a prize draw with a tear off  section of the survey.  This will automatically be entered into the draw on its return.  We will keep you posted on this and any other ideas as they progress.

You can keep up to date with your village appraisal via the Parish council notice boards. subsequent articles in the Hatfield Peverel Review, by phoning the contact number below and by logging into our brand new parish website  www.hatfieldpeverel.org.uk

We would be delighted to hear your ideas, answer any queries and hopefully make use of any practical help you feel you could offer.
