             welcome to  HATFIELD PEVEREL LIBRARY

                 Situated in The Street opposite The Swan Inn car park and close to the parade of shops, the manager Sally Patterson and two staff look forward to meeting you in the library.  The library is open at the following times:

     Tues    2.00  -  6.00pm

 Thurs      9.00  -  6.00pm

     Sat       9.00  -  5.00pm

Joining the library is easy...

Simply call in when we are open.  Your name and details are added to our database and you are issued with a small card to use in any Essex library.  There is no membership form to complete and no minimum age to belong.    All customers are allowed up to 14 items on their tickets.   For more details go to Essex Libraries Website

Join us for a Coffee/Tea mornings the first SATURDAY of every month (except August and September when we are busy with the Big Summer Read), 09.00 - 12.00 noon.

Come and join the Hatfield Peverel Booktalk Group.

Meeting in the library on the second Thursday of each month at 1.30 pm, the group reads a wide variety of books and spends a happy hour over a cup of tea and biscuit discussing the books they have read.  Anyone can join and it costs nothing to become involved.

Stuck for a good book to read?  Then enter our askchris website and find recommendations from other readers.  You can also add your own reviews and find great reads in large print and audio.

For people who cannot read ordinary size print we have a selection of books with large print in the library.  We can also obtain videos with sub-titles for hearing impaired people and audio described videos for people with visual impairments.  Call into the library if you fell these services could be of benefit to you

Library Direct provides a service to people who are unable to visit their local library.  On the first Tuesday of each month volunteers leave our library with a collection of material for people who cannot make the journey here for whatever reason. If you are confined to home or know of somebody in that position then please telephone the library for details or ask somebody to enquire at the library on your behalf.

Services for everyone...

At Hatfield Peverel we have two computers available for public use.  These machines allow you to access the internet, use your email, take computer courses and produce your own work.  You must be a member of the library to use the machines which can be used for up to 1 hour by each library customer on any day we are open.   This service is free except for a small charge when printing.  call in to the library for details
